Gangtok, Feb. 7: Singer Amit Paul, one of the Indian Idol runners-up, will perform at the snow festival.
The three-hour-long programme will be held at the Tashi Namgyal Academy grounds here.
“We are organising a musical evening on February 22 where Amit Paul will be performing along with local singers,” said Tula Ram Chettri, the managing director of Namdul Tours and Travel, the organiser of the programme.
The event will start from 5pm and tickets are priced at Rs 500 and Rs 300 per person.
The organisers said all hotels in Gangtok had been told about the programme so that they could tell the guests. “The hoteliers will be informing the guests about the Amit Paul musical evening. Usually tourists don’t have scope for any entertainment in the evenings here and they can be interested in the event,” said Chettri.
He added that Amit Paul was very popular in the region. “He is well known here. Although most of the people supported Prashant Tamang in the show Amit, too, has his share of supporters,” Chettri said.(Telegraph)
