पहाड़को प्रथमिक पाठशालाहरु एका एक बन्द हुनुमा सरकार पक्ष दोषी छ कि शिक्षक-शिक्षिकाहरुको लापारवाही? किन दार्जीलिङ पहाड़को शैक्षिक स्तर दिनोदिन खस्किन्दै गइरहेको छ? प्रथमिक शिक्षा बाल-बालिकाहरुको निम्ति महत्तवपूर्ण हुँदा-हुँदै पनि किन आजसम्म पहाड़को शिक्षा व्यवस्थामा सुधार आउन सकिरहेको छैन?

राजनीति गर्दिनँ भन्नु पनि अर्को राजनीति होः हर्कबहादुर छेत्री

मेरो अधिकारक्षेत्रभित्र पाँच बर्षको लागि जनताको हितको काम गर् भनेर मलाई भोट हालेको हो नि। मलाई थाहा छ यसले जनताको धेरै हित हुन्छ। यसले जनताको हितसँगै पार्टीको पनि हित हुन्छ, आन्दोलनलाई पनि सहयोग पुर्‍याउँछ भनेपछि एकदम निसंकोच भनेर अघि बढ्न सक्छु म। म त्यही काम गर्दैछु।

बघिनी फेरि पुरानै खोरमा

‘समयले मानिसलाई कहाँ कहाँ पुर्‍याउँछ,,,,,,’ कुनै समय रेडियो नेपालबाट बजिरहने यो चर्चित गीतले मान्छेको जीवनमा प्रणयसम्बन्धको आरोह अवरोहले पार्ने प्रभावलाई सुन्दर ढंगले व्याख्या गरेको छ। यो लोकप्रिय गीतको यही एक हरफ कुनै राजनीतिकर्मीको जीवनसँग गाँसेर हेर्दा के उत्तर पाइएला?

साहित्य अनि सर्जकलाई माया गर्ने घिसिङ

80 को दशकमा देशभरिका गोर्खाहरूलाई जातित्वको भावना उत्पन्न गराउने प्रथम नेता सुवास घिसिङको निधनले अहिले घड़ी सम्पूर्ण दार्जीलिङ पहाड़ नै स्तब्ध बनेको छ। गोर्खाहरूका हित अनि अस्तित्वका निम्ति छुट्टै राज्यको बहस लिएर सुवास धिसिङले त्यसताक पहाड़का प्रत्येक गाँऊहरूको भ्रमण गरेका थिए। 22 जुन 1936 सालमा मिरिकको मञ्जु चियाबगानमा जन्म लिएरका सुवास घिसिङले आफ्नो तर्क राख्न एकलै जनसभा गर्थे। घिसिङले सम्पूर्ण गोर्खाहरूलाई एकै शुत्रमा बाँध्न "गोर्खाल्याण्ड" शब्दको जन्म गरेका थिए।

Morcha rebels stay put in polls

Darjeeling, Nov. 18: The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha’s dream of winning elections to all four hill municipalities uncontested received a jolt with Independents remaining in the fray in five wards of the Mirik civic body.
When the withdrawal of the nominations closed today, the Morcha acted swiftly and announced the expulsion of three Independents.
“Of the five candidates who did not withdraw the nominations, three were our party members. We have expelled them for going against the party decision. The other two candidates don’t belong to the Morcha and are probably backed by the GNLF,” said Morcha general secretary Roshan Giri.
Eight persons had filed papers as Independents in six of the nine seats in Mirik. While Saraswati Tamang (ward 3), Nima Singh Tamang (ward 6) and Sunil Bomzom (ward 7) withdrew their nominations this afternoon, the other Independents decided to stay in the fray. The five are Bijay Tamang (ward 6), Roshan Tamang (ward 7), Krishna Sarkri (ward 8), Bijay Tamang (ward 9) and Pemba Tshering Bhutia (ward 2).
The candidates expelled from the Morcha are Bijay Tamang, Roshan Tamang and Krishna Sarki. “Bijay Tamang was a member of the party’s town committee, while Roshan Tamang was with the Yuva Morcha. Krishna Sarki belonged to the Nari Morcha,” said Giri.
The municipal elections will be held on December 11 and Morcha candidates will take on the Independents in five seats. The rest of the wards have been won by M.K. Zimba (ward 3), Manikala Ghalay (ward 1), Mala Subba (ward 4) and Barun Subba (ward 5). This essentially means that the Morcha needs to win one more seat to take control of the municipality.
If the Morcha loses all the five seats, it will have to sit in the Opposition and this could come as a major blow to the party in Mirik. Notable leaders who have to fight the elections are Arun Ghisingh (ward 2), the vice-president of the Morcha’s Mirik Mahakuma Parishad, and L.B. Rai (ward 7), a central committee member of the party and a former chairperson of the Mirik municipality.
The Morcha has declared that Rai will be the chairperson of the Mirik municipality if the party wins the polls.
After retreating from the contest, Saraswati Tamang said she had filed the papers to drive home the point that no leader could carry on without taking others on board.
“Even though I was an ex-commissioner of the Mirik municipality and a member of the Morcha, certain leaders of the branch committee used to domineer over me. I was never against the party but wanted to prove a point. As I am convinced with the assurances of the central committee members, I decided to withdraw the nomination in the interest of the party,” she said.
Bijay Tamang, one of the expelled Morcha members, said: “We do not have any negative attitude towards the party but since this is a democratic country, we have decided to contest the elections.”
Although the Morcha has won all the seats uncontested in Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Kurseong, the boards there can be formed only after the election process in Mirik is over. Counting of votes in Mirik will take place on December 13.

Tribal rebels vow to defy state leaders

Kalchini (Alipurduar), Nov. 18: The dissident Adivasi leaders who wanted to join the hill administration today said they would not accept any action against them by the state leadership.
The state committee of the Akhil Bharatiya Adivasi Vikas Parishad is slated to meet in Calcutta on November 26 to decide on the action to be taken against five leaders from the Terai and the Dooars.
“Before signing the agreement with the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha at Mungpoo, we had conferred with more than 300 members of our units in the Terai and Dooars. We will attend the meeting in Calcutta on November 26 when the state committee takes a decision on our replies to the showcause notices. The state committee will have to declare their decision for or against us. We will not abide by any decision against us,” said John Barla, the former president of the Dooars-Terai regional unit of the Parishad.
Barla, Parishad state secretary Tezkumar Toppo and Sukra Munda, the president of the Progressive Tea Workers Union, an affiliate of the forum, were among the five leaders showcaused by the state committee.
The five were asked to explain why they had entered into an agreement with the Morcha to include the Adivasi-dominated regions in the GTA.
Today, Barla and Munda convened a meeting at the Kalchini Athletic Club where they explained their stand to about 300 Parishad members. Parishad state president Birsa Tirkey came under severe criticism at the meeting. Some supporters even said Tirkey had no right to take decisions on the Adivasis in the Terai and the Dooars.

“We explained to the Parishad members at the meeting that why we had signed the agreement with the Morcha. While Birsa Tirkey was sitting in Calcutta, it was we who had fought the Morcha. Tirkey says the Parishad is not willing to yield an inch of land to the GTA, but he can’t say how development can take place here,” said Barla.
Contacted over the phone, Tirkey said: “Barla has been suspended from his post and he cannot convene a meeting. He is trying to fool the people of our community who are largely illiterate.”
An observer said the rebels know well that the state committee will take stern action against them. “Prior to that, the dissidents are trying to consolidate their position in the Terai and the Dooars.”

Plea to stall work on power projects

Gangtok, Nov. 18: A section of villagers from West Sikkim today pleaded to the governor to stop work on the two power projects on the Rathong Chu till a review was completed.
Three mega projects had been proposed on the Rathong Chu, considered sacred by the Buddhists.
While the 96 MW Lethang project has already been rejected by the National Board for Wildlife under the Union ministry for environment and forest, the 99 MW Ting Ting project has received environmental clearance and work on the 97 MW Tashiding power project started six months ago.
Today residents of Tashiding, Yangthang and the adjoining areas under the banner of Save Sikkim told governor B.P. Singh that “a wide crack has appeared on the land surface” above the under-construction tunnel at the Tashiding project in Amblok village after the September 18 quake.
“The crack, some 5km above the tunnel, was noticed after the earthquake and it is wide and deep enough to swallow a person or cattle. People of 11 villages under Yangtey gram panchayat, over which the tunnel passes, fear an impending disaster,” said Save Sikkim member Prabhu Ram Kharka.
“The projects are being reviewed by both the state and the Centre and we demand that the tunnel construction be stopped till the assessment is over,” he said.
The members have said if the work is not stopped in a week, they will organise protests. “We have support from most parts of West Sikkim and one youth from every house in Yangtey will join the protest,” said Kharka.(the telegraph)

Tie-up call for hills, UK garden - Cross-country bond beckons tea & tourism

Siliguri, Nov. 18: A delegation of industrialists from north Bengal has proposed to twin Darjeeling hills with England’s only tea garden, Tregothnan, for free flow of tourists and exchange of tea.
The proposal came from the North Bengal zonal council of the Confederation of Indian Industry, when a team visited the Tregothnan estate in September. The estate in Cornwall in the south-west of England comprises tea plantation, dense woods and several tourist attractions.
“It was nice to visit the estate that is spread over two counties of Cornwall and Kent. Tea is cultivated on around 100 acres on the estate. We proposed that Tregothnan can be twinned with Darjeeling hills, especially with focus on Darjeeling tea. There can be exchange of information, different species of tea and other flora between the two places,” said Ramgopal Jajodia, the chairperson of the zonal council of the CII.
Jonathon Jones, a director of the Tregothnan estate, told the delegation that he would take a positive look at the proposal.
“He (Jones) seemed to be enthusiastic about the idea and said joint efforts need to be made to forge the tie-up by including the stakeholders of the Darjeeling tea industry and the governments of India and the UK,” said Jajodia.
The delegates had recounted during their interaction with the Tregothnan officials that the bond between India and England with regard to tea go back to when the British had set up gardens in north Bengal and other parts of the country centuries back.
The CII feels the tie-up between the hills and the Tregothnan estate that came up in 1335 can give global exposure to Indian tea.
“Our intention is to augment the international market of Indian tea. If we can forge a relationship with the UK-based estate, it will go a long way in promoting Darjeeling as a tourist destination and the producer of best brew. This is because a lot of people from different parts of the UK and other countries visit Tregothnan and they can be told about Darjeeling. Similarly, Tregothnan can also be promoted among the tourists coming to Darjeeling,” said Jajodia.
The CII officials said they were eagerly looking forward to a reply from Tregothnan official Jones on the proposal when he attended the three-day Indian Tea Forum here next month.
The event will be organised by the CII from December 17 to 19.
“Jones has confirmed his participation at the event and will make a presentation on December 18. We can hear from him what exactly they want. The matter can be discussed with the tea stakeholders and government officials as well at the forum,” said Laxmi Limbu Kaushal, the administrative head of the CII zonal council and one of the delegates to the UK.
The forum is being organised to promote the beverage and tourism internationally, and will see experts discuss various issues related to the tea industry.
Kaushal said Tregothnan resembled Darjeeling in terms of flora.
“Like Darjeeling, the estate has tea plants, rhododendrons and shrubs. We saw in Tregothnan tea plants brought from Sikkim and Darjeeling. One of the Sikkim plants was 100 years old,” she said.(the Telegraph)

The State Government vide Gazettee Notification

The State Government vide Gazettee Notification no. 83/Home/2011 dated 14.11.2011 has constituted a committee chaired by Chief Secretary which shall examine the damages caused to the monasteries, other Religious institutions and heritage sites of Sikkim by the earthquake of 18th September 2011, with the help of experts and submit a detail report to the Government for repair and restoration of the damages. This has been done to ensure that the damaged monasteries are restored to their original shape for which opinion and recommendation of a High Level Committee consisting of technical experts on the subject is required. The eleven member committee headed by Chief Secretary of the state has Secretary, Cultural and Heritage Department as Member Secretary.

A District Awareness Programme for Farmers Clubs  on  the Scheme for Development / Strengthening of Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure, Grading and Standardization  was conducted at   Namchi by NABCONS, a subsidiary of NABARD.
 
Shri Mahesh Goyal, Assistant .Gen.eral Manager, NABARD,Gangtok inaugurated the programme and briefed the participants on the Scheme and and apprised the house that Farmers Clubs can play a very important role in popularizing this Scheme for Development / Strengthening of Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure, Grading and Standardization so that the farmers can come forward to take the benefit of credit linked back ended subsidy. Further he also emphasized the  importance of cleaning & grading for getting better price for agriculture commodity. Further the farmer could also create storage alongwith the cleaning & grading. Shri Goyal informed that this scheme is reform linked and Sikkim State has amended the APMC act as such all benefits can be taken under the scheme.
Shri J. C. Biswas, DDM, NABARD, Namchi made detailed presentation on the various aspects of  the scheme and its relevance in increasing incomes of farmers.  He informed that assistance under the scheme is available to individuals, groups of farmers, growers, SHGs, Cooperative Marketing Federations etc. Under the scheme subsidy  @ 33.33 %  of the capital cost of the project subject to upper ceiling of Rs 60.00 Lakhs is available for North eastern states. Directorate of Marketing and Inspection (DMI), Ministry of Agriculture, GoI, is the nodal agency to operate the scheme. NABARD will be administering the subsidy and monitoring the progress of the scheme. The participants were very happy on knowing about this scheme and assured to popularize it so that maximum farmers could take benefit of it.
The programme was attended by Shri Kamal Thatal, Deputy Project Director, ATMA, Food Security & Agriculture Development Department, Govt of Sikkim, Namchi, South Sikkim, members of Farmers Clubs, NGOs, Bankers  and KVK Officials.

Red Panda logo sparks fond memories

 Nov. 17: Millie is back and the cuddly red panda whose new-found freedom was cut short by a leopard will be seen on all banners, posters, festoons and placards as the mascot of the tea festival next month.
Millie and Sweetie had got global attention when they became the first pair of red pandas born in captivity to be released in the wild.
Sweetie continues to roam the Singalila wildlife sanctuary and may be further but five-year-old Millie was mauled to death by a leopard in 2003, a few months after its release from the zoo in Darjeeling.
The organisers of the Darjeeling Tea and Tourism Festival, to be held from December 20 to January 5 next year, have decided to bring back Millie by making it the mascot of the festival.
Darjeeling deputy magistrate and co-coordinator of the festival, Sonam Bhutia, said: “During our research we found that Millie and Sweetie were the most celebrated red panda. The red panda could actually symbolise the pristine glory of Darjeeling and hence we decided to christen our mascot Millie—the Panda.”
The mascot and the logo for the fest were chosen from among 150 entries. “We had organised a competition and the mascot was made by Rabin Chhetri from Darjeeling and the logo by Bikash Pal from Siliguri. They have won a cash award of Rs 5,000 each. They will also be felicitated during the festival,” said Uday Mani Pradhan, the convener of the festival committee.
Wildlife experts recalled how Millie had worked hard to gain freedom. It was after carefully observing the 22 red pandas in captivity and their genetic analysis so that the offsprings are healthy that Millie and Sweetie were selected.
They were taught to be independent including fending for their own food so that there was very little human imprints for easy acceptance in the wild. Later the red pandas were sent to an enclosure at Gairibas within the Singalila sanctuary for six months so that they could acclimatise in a controlled environment.
Satisfied with their progress the authorities of the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park released them in the wild after tagging them with radio-collars. “Sweetie even gave birth to a cub and later we decided that it was no longer necessary to monitor her. Millie, however, was mauled by a clouded leopard,” said A.K. Jha, director of the zoo.
Under Project Red Panda, the Darjeeling zoo started releasing the animals in the wild in 1999. After the successful release of Millie and Sweetie, the zoo let out Neelam and Doma in 2004.
Sweetie and Millie’s story was documented as Cherub of the Mist by wildlife filmmakers Ajay and Vijay Bedi. The film created history of sorts by bagging 11 international awards, including the Green Oscar. The success of release continues to inspire the Darjeeling zoo which is doing its bit to conserve red pandas, one of the endangered species categorised in Schedule I of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.
“At the moment we have 10 male and five female red pandas. We are also in the process of exchanging a male panda for a female from Adelaide zoo in Australia in the next four to five months,” said Jha. He added that a survey was being carried out on the red pandas in the Singalila and the Neora Valley wildlife sanctuaries to look into the prospect of releasing more animals in the wild.(The Telegraph)

Demand to probe tea land deal

Siliguri, Nov. 17: A forum fighting for people displaced during the construction of the Uttarayon township has demanded a judicial inquiry into the Chandmoni Tea Estate’s transfer of land to the project and the deaths of two garden workers in a police firing in 2002.
The Chandmoni Tea Estate Anti-Eviction Joint Action Committee raised the demand in a memorandum sent to Mamata Banerjee two days ago.
“We demand a judicial inquiry into the land deal and the death of two garden workers in a police firing while they were protesting against the acquisition of the plot. Rules had been violated when the tea garden land was converted into a township project, under which several high-rises and shopping malls have been built,” Abhijit Majumdar, a state committee member of the CPIML (Liberation), told journalists here today.
“Further, the state government and the realtor have failed to keep their promises that tea plants would be grown on at least 150 acres within the township and 500-odd workers of the estate would be rehabilitated.”
The committee consisted of different non-governmental organisations and right groups. It said the government had handed over 406.64 acres to the private company against a sum of Rs 13.92 lakh in 2002. It said the actual valuation of the plot was Rs 100 crore.
Majumdar said the demand for the judicial probe had been raised in the wake of the government’s decision to start inquiries into the land dispute at Rajarhat in Calcutta and firing in Marichjhapi.(Telegraph)

Government was ready to share Teesta river waters with neighbouring Bangladesh - C.M Mamata

Kolkata : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said her government was ready to share Teesta river waters with neighbouring Bangladesh, but the process would start only after the submission of the Expert Committee report.

"I appreciate Bangladesh's long standing demand of sharing Teesta water. We will be happy to share it with our neighbouring country, but we too have some problems," Ms Banerjee told reporters after a meeting with Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dipu Moni at the State Secretariat Writers's Buildings.

"We have already formed a team of river experts under Mr Kalyan Rudra. Let them review the situation and let them submit the report to the government. Let us see how much of water can be shared so that the people of North Bengal do not suffer and at the same time the need of Bangladesh is also fulfilled." Taking a "dig" at some quarters for creating "controversy and confusion" over the Teesta issue, the Chief Minister hoped the matter would be solved to the benefit of both Bangladesh and West Bengal.

Ms Moni said she had discussed various issues, including that of Teesta water pact, with Ms Banerjee during their nearly 50-minute talk.

Ms Moni had also invited Ms Banerjee to visit Bangladesh.

Earlier, Ms Banerjee was supposed to accompany Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his two-day visit to Bangladesh, but later opted out citing reason that this treaty would have a cascading impact on North Bengal.

नई दिल्ली। तेल कंपनियों ने मंगलवार को पेट्रोल की कीमत में रुपये कम करने का फैसला किया है। नई कीमत आज रात बजे से लागू हो जाएंगी। पेट्रोल की कीमत में 2009 के बाद पहली बार कमी की गई है। पेट्रोल की कीमत में हुई इस कमी के बाद महंगाई से त्रस्त जनता को कुछ राहत मिलने की उम्मीद की जा सकती है। 2.25 12 तेल कंपनियों ने यह फैसला वैश्विक बाजारों में कच्चे तेल की कीमतों में नरमी आने के कारण किया है। इससे पहले, सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र की तेल विपणन कंपनियों ने पेट्रोल के दाम 1.80 रुपये प्रति लीटर बढ़ा दिए थे। सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र की एक तेल कंपनी के एक उच्च अधिकारी ने कहा कि नवंबर के पहले पखवाड़े में जिस अवधि को आधार मानकर पेट्रोल का मूल्य तय किया गया था उसके मुकाबले गत तीन नवंबर को पेट्रोल की कीमत करीब 5 डालर प्रति बैरल कम थी। चूंकि पेट्रोल की कीमतों पर सरकारी नियंत्रण खत्म हो चुका है, इसकी दरें वैश्विक दरों के मुताबिक घटती-बढ़ती हैं। हमारा इरादा कीमतों में गिरावट का लाभ ग्राहकों तक पहुंचाने का है।
नवंबर के पहले पखवाड़े में पेट्रोल की कीमतें औसतन 115.85 डालर प्रति बैरल थीं, जबकि अक्टूबर के दूसरे पखवाड़े में कीमतें औसतन 121.67 डालर प्रति बैरल थीं और इसी मूल्य को देखते हुए 1.80 रुपये प्रति लीटर की वृद्धि की गई। इसके अलावा, इस महीने रुपये का औसत भाव 49.20 रुपये प्रति डालर रहा जो अक्टूबर के 49.40 प्रति डालर के मुकाबले अधिक है। तेल कंपनियां पखवाड़े के औसत वैश्विक तेल मूल्यों के आधार पर पेट्रोल के दामों में फेरबदल करती हैं। सरकार ने पिछले साल जून में पेट्रोल के मूल्य निर्धारण पर नियंत्रण हटा लिया उन्होंने कहा कि सभी करों को छोड़कर पेट्रोल की कीमतों में कटौती 1.86 रुपये प्रति लीटर की बनती है। हालांकि, करों को ध्यान में रखते हुए यह 2 रुपये प्रति लीटर तक घट सकती है। सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र की तेल कंपनियों ने 3 नवंबर को पेट्रोल की कीमत 1.80 रुपये प्रति लीटर बढ़ा दी थी। इस साल कीमतों में यह चौथी बार की गई वृद्धि थी।

 आन्तरिकरुपमा पार्टीको टिकटलाई लिएर धेरै कलह चलेको भए पनि मोर्चाले त्यसलाई प्रकटमा ल्याएको छैन| नगरपालिका चुनाउको निम्ति मोर्चाले केवल उम्मेदवारहरू मात्र होइन वार्ड कमिटी पनि तयार गरिसकेको छ| पार्टीको टिकट पाएका मम्मेदवारहरूमा २१ जनाले नामाङ्कन पत्र भरिसकेका छन् भने आज मोर्चाबाट पूर्वघोषित नगराध्यक्ष एलबी परियारले पनि नामाङ्कन पत्र भरे| परियार मोर्चाका स्टडी फोरमका कर्मठ सदस्य हुन्| मोर्चाले जीटीएको सम्बन्धमा राज्य र केन्द्र सरकारसित जति पनि बैठकहरू गर्‍यो, त्यसमा परियारको सहभागिता प्रमुख रहेको थियो| तिनले मदन तामङ हत्याकाण्डको बेला पार्टीबाट राजिनामा समेत दिएका थिए भने पछिबाट मोर्चा कार्यकर्ताहरूको  करकापमा पार्टीमा फर्किएको तिनले घोषणा गरेका थिए|
 मोर्चाले गोर्खाल्याण्डको आन्दोलन भन्दै गर्दा तिनले जीटीएको कुरा त्यसबेला गरेेका थिए| तिनले भनेका थिए, छुट्टै राज्य अहिले नै सम्भव छैन, यसकारण कुनै पनि व्यवस्थामा सम्झौता गरिनु नै उत्तम निर्णय हुने छ| परियार पूर्व आईपीएस पनि हुन् भने अब तिनी डब्ल्युबीसीएस स्तरका ेअधिकारीको अधीनमा बस्ने छन्| यस अघि तिनी दागोपाप प्राथमिक शिक्षा पर्षदमा पनि उच्चस्थ पदमा थिए| मोर्चाले नगरपालिकालाई आफ्नो अधीनमा लिने सम्पूर्ण पूर्वाधारहरूको निर्माण गरिसकेको छ| चारैवटा नगरपालिकाको निम्ति अध्यक्षसमेत मोर्चाले छानिसकेको भए पनि दार्जीलिङ र कालबुङका अध्यक्षहरूको मात्र नाम सार्वजनिक गरेको छ| यता मोर्चा अध्यक्ष कालेबुङमा बसेर नगरपालिका प्रशासनको पूर्वाधारहरूको निर्माणमा जुटेका छन्| तिनले हिजो प्रत्येक वार्डको विकासको निम्ति वार्डमा रहेका मोर्चाका प्रशाखाहरूबाट दुइदुइजना प्रतिनिधिहरू छान्दै वार्ड कमिटी पनि बनाएका छन्| नगरपालिका ऐन अनुसार नै वार्ड समिति बनाइएको बताइए पनि कमिटीमा केवल एउटै दलका प्रतिनिधिहरू मात्र रहेका छन्| यसै पनि अहिले पार्टीको टिकट अनि वार्ड समिति निर्माणले वार्डहरूमा धेरै किचलोहरु उपार्जन भएको छ| जसको समाधान गर्न मोर्चा अध्यक्षले वार्डका समर्थकसित बारम्बार बैठक गरिरहेको छ| १५ नोभेम्बरको दिन नगरपालिका प्रशासनको कार्यरुप र कार्यढॉंचामाथि छलफल गर्न तिनले वार्डका प्रतिनिधिहरूसित बैठक गर्ने भएका छन्|

कालेबुङ १४ नोभेम्वर: संगीतको सम्राट मानिने स्वगिर्य भुपेन हजारिकको संगीत लगायत अन्य विधमा पुर्यएको योगदानलाई कद्डर गर्दै हजारिकाको आशम निवासी श्रद्दालुहरुले आज उनको अस्तु टिस्टा नदिमा ल्याएर बिसर्जन गरे ।हजारिकाले आशममा मात्र नरहेर देश बिदेश सम्म  आफ्नो कला प्रदर्शन गरिसकेकाले देशको विभिन्न स्थान लगायत विदेशतिर पनि उनको अस्तु लागिएको थाह लागेको छ ।स्वगिर्य हजारिकले दाजीर्लिङ आएर धेरै चोटी आफ्नो कला प्रस्तुत गरिसकेको कारण नै उनको अस्तु टिस्टा नदिको तृवेणिमा ल्याएर विसर्जन गरेको आशम वासिहरुको भनइ छ ।आज स्वगिर्य हजारिकाको अस्तु विसर्जना गर्न्ना अगि तृवेनिमा मोर्चाको टिस्टा शाखाले एउटा श्रद्दन्जली कार्यक्रम आयोजना गरेको थियो उक्त कार्यक्रममा आशमका आशम गोर्खा सम्मेलन आग्सु अनि भागोप आशम शाखाका  प्रती निधिहरु उपस्थित थिए । कार्यक्रममा गोजमुमो लप्चुपेशोक समष्टी टिस्टा शाखा , अनि कालेबुङका भागोप प्रती निधिहरु पनि उपस्थित थिए ।कार्यक्रमलाई मोर्चाको उत्तर पुर्बीय सयोजक शुक बहादुर राईले सन्चालन गरेका थिए भने मोर्चा टिस्टा शाखा प्रमुख बिशाल राईले स्वागत सम्भाष्ण राखेका थिए ।आशम बाटा आएका भागोप अध्यक्ष पुष्प धार  शर्माले महानुभवलाई संगीत सम्राट स्वगिर्य हजारिकाको जिवनी बारे अवगत गराएका थिए ।उनी अनुसार स्वगिर्य हजारिकाको जन्म १ मार्च १९२६ मा आशमको सदियामा भएको थियो ।१० वर्षको उमेर देखिनै संगीतमा डुवेका हजारिकाले प्राय: सबै भाषामा गित शब्द सयोजन ,संगीत,गजल,आदी गरिसकेका छ्न् ।संगीतमा मात्र नरहेर चलचित्र जगत अनि साहित्यक जगतमा समेत बहुमुल्य योगधान प्रदान गरिसकेका हजारिकाले एक समय सामजिक कार्य गर्नहेतु विधाक सम्मा बन्न पुगेकाअ थिए ।उनले आफ्नो संगीत अन्तरष्टिय संगीत सम्मेलन मा पनि प्रस्तुत गरिसकेका छ्न  ।उनको मधुम्य संगीतको कारण उनलाई राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कारले विभुषित गरिसकेको थियो ।हजारिकाले सन् २००९ सालामा आफ्नै शालिगको पनि अनावरण गरेका थिए ।सन् १९६७ मा नेपाली साहित्य जगतका  कवी हरिभक्त कटुवालाले प्रदान गरेको गोर्खे टोपी मृत्यु पर्यन्त लगाएको साथै ह्जारिकले आशमी गोर्खेहरुको लोगा सस्कृतिलाई क्षेत्रीय स्तर देखी अन्त्रष्ट्रीय स्तर सम्म पुराएर नया आयम थप्न सक्ष्म बनेकाले उनको गोर्खाहरु सँग  छुट्टै  सम्वन्ध रहेको आशम वासिहरुको भनइ छ ।नेपाली संसार  पनि प्रसिद्द रहेको हजारिका २०१० साल देखी बिमारी  अवस्थामा थिए ।गत ५ नोभेम्वरको दिन उनले उपचाराधिन आवस्थमा अन्तिम स्वास लिएका थिए ।

राष्ट्रीय फूटबल दलका पूर्व अधिनायक भाइचुङ भुटियालाई पश्चिम बंगाल राज्यको खेलकूद दुत बनाइएको छ

14 नोभेम्बर(कालेबुङ):- राष्ट्रीय फूटबल दलका पूर्व अधिनायक भाइचुङ भुटियालाई पश्चिम बंगाल राज्यको खेलकूद दुत बनाइएको छ। राज्यका खेलकूद मंत्री मदन मित्रले आइतबार दार्जीलिङमा यस आशयको घोषणा गरे। 13औं अल इण्डिया ब्रिगेड अफ गोर्खा गोल्ड कप फूटबलको फाइनलमा प्रमुख अतिथिका रुपमा उपस्थित खेलमंत्री मदन मित्रले यो घोषणा गरेका हुन। यस अवसरमा उनीसँग प्रभारी मंत्री मनिष गुहा, मोर्चामहासचिव रोशन गिरी, पहाडका विधायकहरु त्रिलोक देवान, डा रोहित शर्मा आदिको पनि उपस्थिति थियो। आइतबार दार्जेलिङको नर्थ पोइन्ट खेक मैदानमा भएको फाइनल खेलको समारोहलाई सम्बोधन गर्दै खेलमंत्रीले भाइचुङलाई राज्यको खेलकूद दूतको रुपमा राज्य सरकारले मनोनित गरेको कुरा सार्वजनिक  गरेका थिए। भाइचुङले राष्ट्रीय दलबाहेक राज्यका धेरैवटा फूटबल क्लबहरुमा सम्बद्ध रहेर आफ्नो प्रतिभाको प्रदर्शन गरी सकेका छन।
यता, यस दिन भएको 13औ गोल्ड कपको फाइनल खेलमा पनि भाइचुङको टिम सिक्किम युनाइटेड फूटबल क्लब अनि जमशेदपुरको टाटा फूटबल एकाडेमीबीच भिडंत भएको थियो। यस रोमाञ्चक खेलमा दुवै दलले उत्क़ृष्ट प्रदर्शन गरेको भए पनि खेलको उत्तारार्द्धमा टिएफएले एकको विरुद्ध दुइ गोलले सिक्किम युनाइटेडलाई पराजित गरेको थियो। खेल समाप्त हुन केही अघि भाइचुङ आफै पनि मैदानमा ओर्लेका थिए। तर तिनको प्रयासले पनि दलले बढ्त हासिल गर्न सकेन। यस खेल समारोहका प्रमुख अतिथिको बाहुलीबाट बिजेता दललाई नगद एक लाख तीस हजार अनि ट्रफी तथा उपबिजेता दललाई नगद राशि सत्तर हजार अनि ट्रफी प्रदान गरिएको थियो। सिक्किम युनाइटेडका खेलाडी टोभ सिंहलाई म्यान अफ द टुर्नामेंटको रुपमा चयन गरिएको थियो।
अर्कोतिर, पश्चिम बंगालको खेलकूद दूतको रुपमा आफूलाई चयन गरिएकोमा भाइचुङ भुटियाले खुशी प्रकट गर्दै यस राज्यको फूटबल खेलको स्तर उकास्न आफ्नो प्रयास रहने बताएका छन।

अराजनैतिक सङ्गठनले राजनैतिक मुदा उठाउन सक्छ-मुनिष

राष्ट्रियस्तरमा छुट्टैराज्यको आन्दोलन गर्ने भार अब भागोपलाई छ| किन भने हिजो  पहाडका राजनैतिक दल अनि अराजनैतिक सङ्गठनहरूबीच भएको बैठकमा भागोपलाई नै छुट्टैराज्यको आन्दोलनको नेतृत्व सुम्पिएको छ| अघइबाट नै भागोपले गोर्खाल्याण्ड टास्क फोर्स गठन गरेको छ जसको राष्ट्रिय अध्यक्ष आर मोक्तान रहेका छन्| हिजो सर्वलीय बैठखले तयार पारेको मञ्टको नाम पनि गोर्खाल्याण्ड टास्क फोर्स नै रहेको छ| आर मोक्तानले बताए अनुसार भागोपकै टास्कफोर्सलाई नै सर्वदलीय सहमतिले उचित नाम रहेको बताएपछि यसै फोर्सलाई नै सर्वदलीय मञ्च बनाइएको छ| यता भागोप एक अराजनैतिक सङ्गठन भएकोले छउट्टैराज्य जस्तो राजनैतिक मुद्दाको उठान कसरी गर्न सक्छ भन्ने कुरा अघिबाट नै व्यापकरुपले चलिरहेको कुरा हो| भारतीय गोर्खा परिसङ्घ अराजनैतिक सङ्गठन रहेकोले नै राजनैतिक मुदाको उठान गर्न नसकेको बताइने गरे पनि राजनैतिक दलहरुले छुट्टैराज्यको मुद्दा सहीरुपले उठान गर्न नसकेकोले नै आन्दोलन सफल नभएको विषयमा सर्वदलीय बैठकमा चर्चा भएको मोक्तानले बताएका छन्| राजनैतिक सचेतकहरूले पनि छुट्टैराज्यको मुद्दाको उठानसित नै सहुलियतहरूको माग गरिएकोले नै जहिल्यै पनि आन्दोललाई स्थगित गरेर अन्य व्यवस्थामा नै आन्दोलन टुङ्गिने गरेको बताइरहेका छन्| दुइपल्टको आन्दोलन नै राज्य केन्द्रित रहेको मात्र होइन राज्य सरकारलाई विकास नभएको गुनासो गरिएकोले नै टुङ्गोमा पुग्न नसकेको राजनैतिक दहरूले बताउने गरेको छ|
 भागोपले पनि यही कुरालाई अनुभव गरेको बताइएको छ| गोर्खा राष्ट्रिय मुक्ति मोर्चा अनि गोर्खा जनमुक्ति मोर्चाले छुट्टैराज्यको आन्दोलन गर्‍यो तर दवै नै विकासको मुद्दामा आएर आन्दोलनलाई शिथिल बनाउन मात्र होइन बाधा गर्ने काम पनि गरिरहेको पर्यवेक्षकहरु बताउँछन्| गोरामुमोले दागोपाप अनि गोजमुमोले जीटीए थापेपछि छुट्टैराज्यको आन्दोलन सकिएको धेरैले अनुभव रिरहेको बेला भागोपले केन्द्र अनि राज्यलाई छुट्टैराज्य सकिएको छैन अनि अब यसको उठान राष्ट्रियस्तरमा हुने बताएको छ| आर मोक्तानले भने,  जीटीए तथा दागोपाप छुट्टैराज्यको  सवालमा तुलना गर्न नमिल्ने मुद्दाहरू हुन्| सहीरुपले कुनै पनि लले मुद्दाबारे केन्द्रलाई बुझाउन नसकेको कुरा नै टास्क फोर्सले गहिरोरुपले लिएको छ| यसकारण टास्कफोर्सले केन्द्रलाई पूर्णतथ्य सहितको दस्तावेजहरू बुझाउने छ| एक अराजनैतिक सङ्गठनले राजनैतिक दलहरूलाई एकत्रित गरेर भागोपले राजनैतिक मुद्दाको उठान कसरी गर्न सक्छ भन्ने प्रशिनकको उत्तरमा भागोपका राष्ट्रिय प्रवक्ता मुनिष तामङले भने, भागोपलाई अराजनैतिक सङ्गठनले राजनैतिक मुद्दा हुँदैन भन्ने कुरालाई मान्दैन| जन सरोकारका कुरा भागोपले उठान गर्न सक्छ| यदि अराजनैतिक सङ्गठनले राजनैतिक मुद्दाको उठान नगर्ने हो भने अराजनैतिक सङ्गठनका कार्यकर्ताहरूले भोट पनि नहाल्नु पर्न हो| राजनैतिक  दलसित संलग्नहरूले मात्र भोट हाल्नु पर्ने हो| भारतमा कुनै पि नागरिकले राजनैतिक विचारको निर्माण गर्न सक्छ, राजनैतिक सवालमा बोल्न सक्छ| टास्क फोर्सले भारतभरिका गोर्खाहरूको राजनैतिक अनि चिह्नारीको सवालमा बोल्ने छ|

आगामी नरपालिका चुनाउको निम्ति आफ्नो पार्टीका उम्मेदवारहरू घोषित गरिएपछि त्यसैदिनदेखि गोर्खा जनमुक्ति मोर्ता अध्यक्ष गुरूङ कालेबुङका आफ्नो पार्टीका उम्मेदवार अनि वार्डका जनतासित मिलेर प्रत्येक वार्डमा बङ्गाल नगरपालिका अधिनियम अनुसार  वार्ड कमिटी गठन गर्न जुटिरहेका छन्| ११ तारिख रामकृष्ण रङ्गमञ्चमा उम्मेदवारहरू चयन गर्ने क्रममा स्पष्ट रूपले नगरका कार्यकर्ताहरूलाई यसपल्ट नगरपालिकाको कार्यढॉंचा बेग्लै हुने बताएका थिए| भ्रष्टचार रोक्न, वार्ड पार्षदहरूको मनमानी रोक्न प्रत्येक वार्डमा वार्ड कमिटी गठन गर्ने तिनले दिएको वचनलाई पूरा गर्दै प्रत्येक वार्डका उम्मेदवार अनि जनतालाई लिएर वार्ड कमिटी गठन  गरेका छन्| आज तिनले प्रत्येक वार्डका १० देखि १४ जनासम्मलाई  लिएर वार्ड कमिटी गठन गरेका छन्| कमिटी गठन गर्दै कमिटीका प्रतिनिधिहरूलाई भाइबन्दी अनि ठेकेदारीबाट अलग रहने अनि आफ्नो वार्डको विकासको निम्ति निःस्वार्थ रूपले योगदान दिने निर्देश दिएका छन्| अर्कोतिर जनता अनि कमिटीको विरूद्धमा कुनै पनि उम्मेदवारलेे कार्य गरेको गुनासो आए तत्कालै राजीनामा दिनुपर्ने चेतावनी समेत गुरूङले दिएका छन्| आज कालेबुङको सबै वाडर्र्हरूसित बसेको सभामा नगरपालिकाका पूर्वघोषित अध्यक्ष एलबी परियार, गोजमुमो पार्टी सहसचिव विनय तामाङ. केन्द्रिय नेता प्रविण रहपाल नोर्देन लामा, विजय सुन्दास अनि स्टडी फोरमका सदस्य डा. आरबी भूजेल उपस्थित थिए| सभामा नै वार्ड पार्षद अनि वार्ड कमिटीका प्रतिनिधिहरूलाई १५ नोभेम्बरको दिन अर्को बैठकको निम्ति बोलाएका छन्, सो बैठकमा नरपालिकाको कार्यप्रणालीमाथि चर्चा परिचर्चा हुने बताइएको छ|

GNLF (Gorkha National Liberation Front) not to participate in Darjeeling municipal election

GNLF (Gorkha National Liberation Front) will not participate in the municipal elections in the Darjeeling hill sub-division next month, its president Subash Ghising said today.

Municipal elections are scheduled to be held in Darjeeling, Kurseong, Mirik and Kalimpong on December 11.

Asked, he told newsmen, GNLF considered the election is illegal as the state government had adopted an unanimous proposal by the then DGHC under him that a development council under the sixth schedule of constitution be set up for the region.

The suggestion had also been placed before the Centre but it had not the bill in Parliament.

''Only the bill will be considered by GNLF.anything else will be illegal,'' Ghising said.

''We are well wishers of the new government under Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal. But we cannot cannot digest this kind of poisonous decision to hold municipal elections and other agreements which are 100 per cent harmful to the political fate of 22 major hill tribes in Darjeeling,'' he added.
