Sikkim RTI Forum Press Release

On 22 /07/2012 a meeting of Sikkim RTI Forum held to asses the work
done and future plan of work to be taken by the Forum are
discussed.The meeting was attended by all the members and the
Executive members. The following steps to be taken in immediate future
are unanimously agreed :

1) The information related to Industrial Lands given to setup
Industries by the Influential people violating rules and norms with
the nexus of Officers and Politicians are to be disclosed immediately
as the Information related to lands are piling day by day,and to file
PIL in High Court of Sikkim to initiate prosecution.

2) Request to Food Department that ,BPL list in which names of well to
do family members are included needs to be deleted and the people who
are left without BPL facilities but are qualified for the same needed
to be included.

3)Suggest the Govt ,that ADHOC appointment in every department needs
to be closed or should be done on the basis of open competition as we
have seen that only candidates of person who has contacts with higher
authorities and the politicians are getting job.

4)Video Recording for every VIVA interview be done so that impartial
selection of the candidates could be done for any post.

5)BDO and Panchayat level utilisation of fund be monitored at the best
possible level.
