So called the State-of-the-Art Greenfield Airport of Pakyong in East Sikkim is not a new for people due to regular updates of issues one after another in the media served by the affected residents due to anomalies in construction. Sometimes construction debris whips the connecting road so badly that there seems no any correction or even no sign of action from the concerned authority, with such harsh situation the residents are compelled to live in agony despite various big talks thrive in name of development as well as local safe guard.
The pathetic condition of airport construction carried by concerned construction company peels a bizarre scene of whole topography at Dikling above main market of Pakyong. The stashed water logged due to rain collected in the construction site becomes lake like which may be devastating in days to come for the low lying populated residential areas.The stagnated water if left uncared will also boost epedemic is unfolded by residents living there however the company is in no mood to rectify the problem. One educated youth told to this correspondent that if things goes like this then surely we have to say, 'Lake Filled' rather than 'Green Field'.
