The
Kalimpong SJM court today granted bail to Prakash Pradhan, the
principal of a renowned school here in Kalimpong, who had been accused
of offering refuge to some members of the GJM-affiliated Vidhyarthi
Morcha. Pradhan’s bail was approved after he deposited the amount levied
as penalty.
A case had been lodged at the Kalimpong
police station against Pradhan accusing him of giving refuge to the
GJM’s student wing’s members who had arrived in Kalimpong on foot some
weeks ago from Darjeeling. The police had filed Case No. 243/13 against
Pradhan and charged him under Sections 143/186/336 of the IPC. The case
is due for hearing next on November 11, court sources have informed.
