A
 Bolero vehicle with registration number SK 01-J-1900 on its way to 
Siliguri from Sikkim plunged into the Teesta this morning while trying 
to overtake another vehicle near Gale-Khola. The accident has claimed 
the lives of five people whose bodies have not been found yet except for
 one who has been identified as Ram Krishna Rai (32).
According to sources, the vehicle 
collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction while 
overtaking another vehicle and plunged into the Teesta. The four who are
 missing are Deepak Kumar Gupta and Ganesh Kumar Gupta from Sikkim, 
Bilawal Hussain from Islampur and Tek Bahadur Bhujel, the Bolero driver 
from Gurung Busty, Siliguri. There were altogether 11 people in the 
vehicle when the accident occurred and six managed to swim ashore and 
were rescued. They have been admitted to the Rambi Primary Health 
Centre.
