The
state government has been going ahead with the arrest of GJM leaders on
charges framed since 2007 and in keeping with this, arrested Uden
Lepcha of Kamjor Busty today. According to police sources, the GJM
leader was arrested at 11am from Teesta area on charges filed against
him in 2009.
Lepcha was presented before the
Kalimpong ACJM court and sent to 14 days’ judicial custody. His bail
application was denied due to a non-bailable case.
Lepcha has been charged of torching the house of GNLF leader Tshering Sherpa in 2009 and for vandalising property.
