Residents
of an area in the outskirts of Kalimpong have handed over Ashok Golay
(51) to Kalimpong police accusing him of molesting two sisters.
According to them, Golay had been molesting the two girls, aged 15 and
18, for quite a while, and his frequent visit to the girls’ place had
aroused suspicion.
The girls’ parents on Wednesday night
found their daughters in a physically disheveled state and starting
questioning them, following which it came to be known that Golay used to
molest them when there was no was else at home.
When word of this spread, irate
neighbours caught hold of Golay and beat him up severely before handing
him over to the police. The parents have lodged a complaint against
Golay stating he used to sexually abuse their daughters when both
parents left home for work. The neighbours also alleged Golay had been
seen entering the victims’ house on several occasions.
Meanwhile, the suspect has been sent to police custody and will be produced before the ACJM court on Friday morning.
