Chief minister Pawan Chamling today
inaugurated the super specialty wing of the Central Referral Hospital or
Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS) at 5th Mile
Tadong.
The wing, set up at some Rs37.67 crore,
has diagnostic facilities including Radiology, MRI, Digital X Ray,
Cardiac Cath Lab and Ultrasonography, among others. The Neurosurgery,
Urology, Gastroenterology, Skin and Cosmetology, Cardiology, Cardio
Vascular and Onco-surgery departments will function from the super
specialty wing.
SMIMS Pro-Chancellor Dr. Ram Das Pai
felicitated the chief minister and presented him with a memento as a
mark of appreciation and gratitude.
Chamling expressed happiness at the
establishment of the super specialty wing in the CRH terming it a
“significant milestone”. He expressed confidence about the hospital
delivering quality services to benefit all seekers.
