7000 teachers to join BEd

Siliguri, April 24: The state government will impart a two-year B.Ed course in distance education mode to around 7,000 in-service teachers who teach from classes V to VIII in north Bengal. The 7,000 teachers will be accommodated in 35 B.Ed colleges affiliated to the North Bengal University and Gour Banga University. The initiative is part of a Bengal government project to train 29,515 upper primary school teachers without B.Ed across the state by March 31, 2015. April 24: Several investors in Durgapur today complained that Rose Valley, a funds collection company, was deducting a portion of the principal while giving out cheques to them. Many depositors refused to accept the cheques because of this today.
