The
‘Nepali Sahitya Adhyaan Samiti’ of Kalimpong has started choosing
nominees for annual literary award ‘Parasmani Purraskar’, starting
today. Samiti secretary Balbhadra Sharma said, “The award is given every
year on January 26. We have started selecting the candidate for the
award.”
The Samiti today made a press release
and announced the different criterion for winning the award. Sharma
added the Samiti will make the names of nominees’ public on December 21.
He added people who consider themselves eligible for the award can
personally approach the Samiti. According to the released statement,
candidates applying for the award should be an Indian citizen with
minimum 25 years of contribution to literature. The winner might also be
chosen based on their contribution to various papers, magazines and
books. The award was given to poet Birendra Subba last year.
