The State Government vide Gazettee Notification

The State Government vide Gazettee Notification no. 83/Home/2011 dated 14.11.2011 has constituted a committee chaired by Chief Secretary which shall examine the damages caused to the monasteries, other Religious institutions and heritage sites of Sikkim by the earthquake of 18^th September 2011, with the help of experts and submit a detail report to the Government for repair and restoration of the damages. This has been done to ensure that the damaged monasteries are restored to their original shape for which opinion and recommendation of a High Level Committee consisting of technical experts on the subject is required. The eleven member committee headed by Chief Secretary of the state has Secretary, Cultural and Heritage Department as Member Secretary.
