Pranab visit
Darjeeling, June 19: President Pranab Mukherjee will attend the closing ceremony of the 125th year celebration of St. Joseph’s School North Point in Darjeeling on November 10.
Mukherjee will be flying from Bagdogra to Darjeeling on November 10 to attend the event at the school, the first by a President in 23 years. R. Venkataraman was the last President to visit Darjeeling in 1990.
The school will also host governor M.K. Narayanan in October. Santy Mathew, the rector of North Point, said: “While the President of India will be present at the closing ceremony of the 125th jubilee celebration of North Point, Bengal governor M.K. Narayanan will be present on October 4, the school’s anniversary day.”
