SILVER JUBLEE CELEBRATION OF BAHA’I TEMPLE

Baha’is of Sikkim with full of enthusiasm and zeal preparing to attend the SILVER JUBLEE CELEBRATION OF BAHA’I TEMPLE (popularly kwon as LOTUS TEMPLE) ) situated at New Delhi. Baha’i Temple of New Delhi was established in the year 1986. Architecture Mr. Faribuj Sabha designed the Baha’i Temple of India in the shape of Lotus. Lotus is the National flower of India as well as it’s the spiritually significant symbol of Indian culture. There are around eight Baha’i Temples in the world scattered in the different continent. They are in New Delhi, India, in Frankfort Germany, in Kampala Uganda, in Sydney Australia, in Panama Central America, in Samoa pacific, in Iskabad Russia and in Chili. In any Baha’i Temples people of any religious background can go and say prayers. There are no Idols inside the temples and offerings of cash or kinds are not allowed. Baha’is respects all the religions and their Prophets.
To attend the silver jubilee celebration of the Temple more than 150 Baha’is from Sikkim are ready to go. The program will be held on 12th and 13th of November 2011 at the Temple premises. Thousands of Baha’is from all over India and the abroad are expecting to witness the celebration.
The silver jubilee celebration committee has directed all the representatives of the states to come along with their regional traditional and cultural program to perform there in order to demonstrate unity in diversity. Baha’is of Sikkim is also with full swing practicing Sikkim’s cultural Lepcha, Bhutia and Nepali Maruni Dance in Baha’i School, Tadong. Principal Mrs. Rupa Devi Sharma is supporting and monitoring the needs of the Dancing group. After all they are going to present Sikkim’s culture in one of the popular tourist’s destination of Delhi, the Capital of India. Participants are from Gangtok, Saramsa, Pendam and Sumbuk.
