A national convention on football was today organised in the capital by Professional Sports Management Dynamics.
Human Resource and Development
Department minister NK Pradhan was present as the chief guest of the
convention, which also welcomed Sikkim Football Association’s BK Roka,
SFA General Secretary Menla Ethenpa, Vice President Karma Yougal, former
national footballer Jerry Basi and Arjuna award recipient Bruno.C,
among others.
PSMD advisor JK Dutt said, “Sikkim is a
state that has been neglected for long in terms of sports. Since
everybody is in love with football here, there is great scope for the
game here.”
Jerry Basi, encouraging the young
footballers present, said “You need to learn to play football to reach
the pinnacle of your career.”
PSMD has selected Gangtok as its
national headquarters for the first two years where coaches from Germany
will be invited to train aspirants.
