Joint Action Committee vice president JB Rai today said the committee’s
constituents can adopt their own policies and programmes since the GJAC
does not have a code of conduct for adopting policies.
Rai’s statement comes in the wake of GJM
chief Bimal Gurung’s public speech on Tuesday declaring an intensified
struggle after September 20.
Rai, who is also the CPRM vice
president, said, “The GJM chief is announcing programmes that haven’t
been passed by the committee. They are not the GJAC’s decisions.”
He said GJAC members can go forth with
their own programmes in demand of a separate state and noted, “Though
the committee has been formed, we have been unable to maintain a code of
conduct while forming strategies and passing programmes”.
However, Rai maintained the GJAC would formulate future programmes in accordance with developments in national level politics.
